Kenosha County social media suicide lawsuit, mom fights for late son

A Kenosha county mother is suing social media giants soon after her son died by suicide. A lawsuit states Fb, Instagram and Snapchat ended up the catalysts for her son’s dying.

“We know that these social media platforms are really hazardous,” said Bergman.

Bergman is the family’s law firm and founding lawyer of the Social Media Victims Legislation Centre.

“Dad and mom are mounting up and saying, ‘Enough is enough,'” said Bergman.

“This will inevitably set stress on the businesses,” said Marc Tasman, UW-Milwaukee.

Tasman is a senior lecturer at UWM and director of the electronic arts and society system. He states we could see far more lawsuits like this, specifically considering that a whistleblower exposed Fb in 2021.

“There requirements to be exterior safeguards put into area, and that we cannot leave it to corporations on their own to make these changes,” explained Tasman.
